Welcome
EXPERIENCE
My professional journey includes experience working with adults who have experienced trauma, addiction, grief, terminal illness, and diverse mental health needs. My relevant personal experience includes living as an expat in China, as a migrant in the UK, growing up in a multicultural household, navigating a chronic condition, and life as a carer.
SPECIAL Interests
I have a particular interest in issues affecting migrants & expats, cultural difficulties, spiritual abuse, coercive abuse, and online/long-distance relationships. However, I will happily consider us working together if we are a good fit, regardless of what brings you to therapy.
My name is Maemi, and I am an integrative psychotherapist. This means that I offer a warm, supportive space to explore what brings you to therapy, help you feel understood, make sense of your challenges, and move toward your goals at a pace that feels right for you.
ABOUT ME
I have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology & Counselling from The Open University, and have qualified as an integrative psychotherapist at the University of Lancashire. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
(BACP) and the British Psychological Society (BPS).
